Housing in this area of Hensington was partly built before 1922. The drill hall was acquired and converted into a community centre in 1970. It seems in good condition and has some attractive, idiosyncratic features.
We noticed on our site visit that a house in the adjacent plot has the same unusual features, such as the same arch over windows, and the same eaves support, and we wondered whether it was originally the Sergeant's house.
